At Number 5 we like to think we offer you an experience that sets us apart from the traditional, blending comfort with character to create a wonderfully relaxing B&B. Our eclectic mix of rooms are designed with equal amounts of flair, love and imagination and are packed with touches to make your stay feel really special.
With the seafront only a short two-minute stroll, we're right in the heart of the Whitby’s restaurants, shops, cafes, harbour area and beaches.
And if you want to wander further afield, we're ideally located for exploring the breath-taking coast and surrounding countryside. You definitely don't want to miss that either, because in the Georgian drawing room that is England, Whitby is surely the angel on the mantelpiece.
Don’t just take our word for it... we’re rated as a four-star gues thouse by Visit England, and our guests score us five-stars on TripAdvisor.
Number 5 isn't your average guest house. In fact, there's nothing average about us at all.
We’ll do our very best to give you a great night's sleep in our comfortable beds, with warm duvets, firm mattresses and plump pillows. Our bathrooms are filled with Pure Lakes organic toiletries to give you that pampered feeling and our rooms are well stocked with lots of fresh towels, a comfy dressing gown and even slippers to keep you cosy. There’s digital TV and free wi-fi in every room and a wide selection of tea blends, coffee and hot chocolate.
And of course, if you need anything else, just ask. Whatever you need for a perfect stay, we’re happy to help.
At our B&B, we believe that the breakfast is just as important as the bed. So let us start your day in the right way in our stylish, treasure trove of a breakfast room from 8.30 to 10.00am.
Our generous breakfasts are so good they've won awards, and we handpick our products from our favourite local suppliers. There are delicious breads from Botham’s of Whitby, finest quality meat from Sleight’s award-winning butcher Andrew Radford, and traditional Whitby kippers from the renowned Fortunes smokehouse.
Tuck in to our hearty full English or cooked vegetarian options, as well as a wide variety of cereals, fresh fruit, coffees, teas and fruit juices. And Mary's famous homemade marmalade is not to be missed!
It's thanks to those individual touches that we've been awarded the celebrated Breakfast Award.
